38-0 (“the app”) is a football game built to need as little from you as possible. The core game runs entirely on your device. The optional multiplayer features (leagues and leaderboards) use a small online service designed around data minimisation: no accounts, no emails, no tracking, no cookies, no advertising.
The core game: nothing collected
Playing solo seasons requires no internet connection. The app has no account system, no analytics and no advertising SDKs. Your settings, current draft and saved season history are stored locally on your device and never leave it. You can clear them at any time from the in-app Settings screen or by deleting the app.
Multiplayer (leagues and leaderboards): the minimum, by design
If you choose to join or create a league, post a season to the global leaderboard, or play a Daily Challenge, the app sends and our server stores only:
- A manager name you type in. Pick anything; it does not need to be your real name. It is shown to other players on league tables, leaderboards and the Daily Challenge board.
- A random player ID generated inside the app. It is not derived from your device, advertising identifiers or any personal data, and it cannot be linked back to you by us or anyone else.
- Your season results (wins, draws, losses, goals, points, finishing position, badge) and the league invite codes you create or join. For a Daily Challenge we also store the challenge date so your result ranks against that day's board.
- A notification token, only if you opt in to 1v1 match alerts. If you turn on alerts for Quick Match or 1v1 Friend, your device gives us a push token so we can tell you when your opponent finishes the season. It is used only to send you that notification, is never used for advertising, profiling or tracking, and is removed when you turn alerts off or use “Delete My Online Data”.
That is the complete list. We store no email address, no phone number, no contacts, no location and no IP addresses. We store no device identifiers other than the optional push token described above, which you explicitly enable for notifications and which is used only to send them. The service sets no cookies and keeps no request logs. Nothing is used for advertising or profiling, and nothing is shared with or sold to anyone. Multiplayer data is hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure in Europe.
Deleting your multiplayer data
Settings → “Delete My Online Data” removes your name and results from every league, the global leaderboard and the Daily Challenge boards, immediately and permanently. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. You can also email us (below) and we will delete server data for you.
Purchases (38-0 Pro)
Leagues and the global leaderboard are unlocked by 38-0 Pro, a single one-time purchase. The payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; we never see or store your card details, billing address or Apple ID. To know whether you have unlocked Pro, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives the App Store transaction and a random app-generated identifier so the purchase can be restored on your devices; it is not linked to your name, email or the multiplayer player ID, and it is not used for advertising. See Apple’s and RevenueCat’s own privacy policies for how they each handle purchase data.
Internet access
Solo play is fully offline. Multiplayer requests go only to our game server for the purposes described above. If you tap a link to share a result or rate the app, your device’s operating system handles that action through the relevant app (e.g. Messages, the App Store), and we don’t see or record it.
Notifications
There are two separate, optional kinds of notification, each off until you turn it on:
- The daily reminder is scheduled locally on your device. It sends no data to us and uses no account or device identifier. It is a self-contained on-device reminder.
- 1v1 match alerts are a remote push: because only our server knows when your opponent finishes your Quick Match or 1v1 Friend season, telling you needs a push. When you opt in, your device gives us a push token (a device identifier), which we store solely to send you that one notification. It is never used for advertising, profiling or tracking, and it is not linked to your name. You can turn it off any time in the app’s Settings, which removes the token, or revoke it in your device’s notification settings; “Delete My Online Data” also removes it.
Children’s privacy
The app collects no personal data beyond an optional self-chosen display name, and so collects none knowingly from children. Display names are filtered for offensive content.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
